ILLUSTRATED BIBLE TEXTS
Illustrated Scriptures that have been spoken into Kevin’s life over the years.
A verse that was given to me very early in my Christian walk. It has meant a lot to me over the years & one I regularly meditate on. The illustration is a still life drawing done in Kent & one of a number of illustrated verses using pictures/photos I have done.
The God who made the world & everything in it is the Lord of heaven & earth & does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He himself gives life & breath & everything else. From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth… Acts 17:24-26 [while walking around Kathmandu, Nepal, my first visit to Asia as part of an evangelistic team, February 2012]
For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved & those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:15 [whilst preparing the Overstrand Beach Mission, 2010]
But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 2 Corinthians 3:16 [during a Prayer For Israel conference in Overstrand in March 2012]
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands for ever.” I Peter 2:23-25 [during a service at Hopton in March 2014, where the Spirit of God was impressing upon me that the faithful preaching and teaching of His word would be fruitful and seed bearing].
As you come to Him, the living Stone – rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him – you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture is says: “See, I lay a stone in Zi0n, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.” Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But the those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone, and, “A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. I Peter 2:4-10
Peter at Pentecost- such a revelation for me working with children & young people.
