Sketchpad is a creative week of activities and education in the world of art with lots of fun games. The children from 7-17 enjoy a stimulating creative programme and get to take their work home at the end of the week. They make friends and enjoy themselves immensely. Sketchpad has been running since 2012 and was set up by Kevin Moore and was initially run as a residential holiday in Bedfordshire. Kevin is now adjusting it to be a non residential, local based holiday based at The Art Studio in the Charles Burrell Centre, Thetford where he is based.

Tile painting proved a popular activity and gave the children a lovely souvenir to take away with them from the week of activities

Much fun was had when the children were set a challenge to create an invention out of junk! With the help of a team member they were to present their creation to a multi millionaire investor who had flown in from the States. He was to choose one of the creations for his millions to invest in. This one shown was not the winning creation but a close second.

Children had a go at using different medium, like oil pastel and collage.

Kevin drew each person’s side profile on A3 paper, each child and team member would collage their face by using torn magazine paper.
